WRITERS RETREAT

At the beginning of February we organised a very successful writers retreat to stay at the beautiful YHA in Stratford-Upon-Avon.

Clare’s Picture Book group did speed dating our pb ideas -spending an hour going through 30 or so of our ideas each and then pitching our best ones to the group who all chose which they thought felt the strongest and we’ve agreed to write that one for our next session.

Natalie’s Young Adult and Middle Grade novel group each asked pressing questions and answered each other’s questions and shared best practice etc.

It was social and with loads of time for writing.

OUR SUCCESSES

Soon we hope to add a new section to the site and post up our members’ successes. Please send us your good news -and photos (contracts for new children’s books, new children’s books published, agents acquired; competitions and awards won, etc.) and we’ll post them up.

Welcome to the Central West region!

We aim to provide events and support for published and unpublished writers and illustrators. And we’d like to raise the profile of children’s books and literature in the region. Please read what we’re up to and get involved -we’d love to see news faces as well as old…

We’d love to hear from you -with news of your successes (members only, please), or queries/thoughts on future events, or how we can work together to raise the profile of children’s books and literature in our region. And please let us know if you would like to be added to our email update list. You can contact us using the contact form below.

Our joint Central West Local Networks Organizers are Juliet Clare Bell (aka Clare) and Natalie Perry.
