Love them or hate them, synopses are unavoidable if you’re writing, and hope to sell,  children’s books.

Whether you’re planning a submission, or plotting a new story, a well-written synopsis is vital. But what should go in? How much ought we leave out? How long is the perfect synopsis? One page maybe? Two? Single or double spaced? Do we reveal the fabulous and unexpected twist at the end?

Come and spend the afternoon with us and let’s thrash it out together! Written a synopsis you’re proud of? Bring it along! Got some hidden away you’d rather not share? Dig them out anyway. Struggling to get one right? Print it off and bring that too. This event is all about sharing what we know, what we’ve learned, and what we’re scared of!

The afternoon will be facilitated by our very own Sheila Averbuch, but we hope everyone will participate and leave feeling more confident about synopsis writing.

And there was you thinking putting a synopsis together wasn’t fun! It is with SCBWI!

This skillshare is a free event, but please bring a couple of pounds along to cover the cost of room hire and refreshments.
