online - online, online online

We are delighted to be joined “virtually” by successful Scottish Author Barbara Henderson and the Founder/Director of Cranachan Books, Anne Glennie.

We will be discussing what it is like to work directly with an independent publisher, an exciting proposition that can be easily overlooked in a writer’s mission to get agented and published.

There will be a panel style Q&A on how the relationship works and an opportunity for attendees to ask questions.

We’re also hoping Moomin, Gatekeeper at Cranachan, will be available for a guest appearance (check out the website at to see why!).

This event, which is for SCBWI members only, is free, but you will need to register so that we can send you the meeting link.

Barbara Henderson: Author: Inverness-based Barbara Henderson is the author of several novels including Fir for Luck, Punch, Black Water, Wilderness Wars and, most recently, The Siege of Caerlaverock. Her energetic school visits are increasingly taking her across the length and breadth of Scotland, and sometimes beyond. As a Drama teacher, she loves to get young people on their feet as they respond to stories.

Anne Glennie: Founder/Director Cranachan Books: Making sure that Cranachan serves up mouth-watering books, Anne Glennie, as the founder and director, is head of the clan. With a degree in English Language and Literature, she has always been passionate about reading, learning and books. A writer herself, she focuses on creative non-fiction– but also writes fiction freelance for reading schemes used in schools. She is the author of twelve children’s reading books and has also written Reflective Reading, a handbook for teachers on how to teach reading comprehension in the primary classroom.
