If you’re looking for a literary agent and can’t wait until the SCBWI Agents Party, please come along to an evening at the Savoy Tup on January 16th. We’ll be joined by visiting U.S. agent Clelia Gore from Martin Literary in Seattle, and Amber Caravéo of Skylark Literary in the UK. They will be speaking about what they are looking for in a manuscript, and will give you the low-down on how to approach an agent in the United States as well as the UK. There’ll be a Q and A session so do please come with all your questions. Afterwards, you may have a chance to pitch your idea to the agents.

Clelia Gore is the head of the Children’s and Young Adult division of the U.S.-based literary agency, Martin Literary Management.  She represents fiction and nonfiction picture book, middle grade and young adult authors, including Kory Merritt, Jack Andraka, Jennifer Swanson and Cheryl Lawton Malone. Clelia is a former attorney born and raised in the suburbs of New York City. She lives in Seattle where she resides with her husband in a blueberry house at the top of a hill.

Amber Caravéo is the co-founder of Skylark Literary – – a specialist literary agency that seeks and supports the very best in Children’s and YA fiction. Prior to founding Skylark, Amber was the Editorial Director for Orion Children’s Books where she was privileged to work with a host of prize-winning and bestselling authors such as Caroline Lawrence, Liz Kessler, Juno Dawson and Holly Black. She has also worked as Senior Commissioning Editor for Random House Children’s Books and for Working Partners where she edited and developed the million-copy selling series phenomenon, Rainbow Magic.

It’s sure to be a fun and interesting evening. So do please come along, with your questions and your novel ideas!
