with Maisie Paradise Shearring

Written and illustrated by Maisie Paradise Shearring

This masterclass with award-winning illustrator Maisie Paradise Shearring will focus on writing texts for picture books.

Maisie will talk about her experiences of writing for children’s books, and share her key tips for illustrators who would like to develop and experiment with their own writing.

The session will include both individual and group exercises designed to help begin the formation of new ideas, and to encourage participants to explore new ways of writing.

Inside illustration from Maisie’s book, The Happy Prince.

There will be opportunities to review and share work made during the afternoon.

The masterclass is open to all illustrators, from those are entirely new to writing for illustration, those who have a character waiting for a story or to those who wish to refine and develop existing story ideas, ready to pitch to a publisher.
