What: Plot and Structure: a writer’s craft workshop with author Christina Banach

Christina Banach, Scottish author of young adult fiction and 2015 Crystal Kite finalist, presents a hands-on workshop on plot and structure. Using the principles of writer’s craft expert James Scott Bell, Christina shows how to build interest, pace and tension with the LOCK method (Lead, Objective, Conflict, Knockout). An excellent practical workshop for writers of any genre or reader age-range, including children's, young adult and adult fiction. See how to bring your manuscript to the next level, whether you're a keen plotter or you write intuitively, without a set structure.

About Christina: Christina is author of the Scottish young adult novel MINTY, which was shortlisted for the prestigious 2015 Crystal Kite award and nominated for the 2014 Cybils' Children's and Young Adult Blogger Literary Awards. The title was also named a Scottish Book Trust Teen's Book of the Month.

Venue: Edinburgh Central Library, George Washington Brown Room, 7-9 George IV Bridge, Edinburgh EH1 1EG.

Cost: SCBWI member: £21; non-members £29.50
