After relocating to the beautiful city of York, the wonderfully curly-headed James Nicol is returning to his old stomping ground of Cambridgeshire to give an almost full day workshop on the art of world building in stories.

James is the highly successful author of The Apprentice Witch Series published by Chicken House. The workshop will give a glimpse into his approach to world building; from maps to mythology, landscape to languages, James will share advice and practical skills to help bring your wordy-worlds to life.

James has loved books and stories his whole life. As a child he spent hours absorbed in novels, watching epic 1980s cartoons or adventuring in the wood at the bottom of the garden. He lives near York with his partner and a black and white cockapoo called Bonnie.

The workshop will run from 10.30-3.30 with time for lunch (not included). Tea and coffee available all day.

Ely Library is fully accessible to all.

You can find James on Facebook, Twitter @JamesENicol and at jamesnicolbooks.com
