Why the Friday Fringe?
W
The Fringe is the perfect way to settle in for the weekend, with afternoon activities and an informal dinner social in the evening. Come and meet your fellow conference goers whether old friends or soon to be new ones!
Your hosts will be the helpful and resourceful – Catherine Whitmore, Dom Conlon and Tita Berredo.
Sketch Crawl (all welcome!):
W
Join ‘Words&Pictures’ Illustration Editor Tita Berredo (PB writer and illustrator) for an exciting sketch crawl at the Manchester Art Gallery.
Playing with visual references and imagination, Tita will lead insightful drawing activities inspired by items on display. Let your illustrations run free in this positive journey to finding your power!
Meeting at 2pm at the entrance. You are welcome to join on the day even if you haven’t booked on.
Please bring drawing material, and perhaps something to rest on. Stay on after the event for a coffee and a social.

Pre-Conference Social 6pm BrewDog Manchester Outpost – 144 Oxford Road, Manchester M13 9GP (below the Hyatt Hotel)
It’s been too long. Start off your Conference weekend by meeting old friends or making new ones at an exclusive meet-up including special faculty guests in Brew Dog Manchester Outpost from 6pm.
If you’re new to conference this year, or just mindful that you don’t know anyone who is coming, then this is a great opportunity to meet lots of new people, some of whom may be in the same boat as you, ready for the weekend ahead! Make yourself known at reception and our team will ensure that you soon feel part of the welcoming world of children’s illustrators and writers.
This is a chance to catch up with old friends and make new ones in an informal setting.
Tickets are priced at £20 with food and one drink included. Bookings are now closed and unfortunately we do not have the capacity to welcome walk ups.
